Meta AI Can Now Analyze Meta Ads, Facebook and Instagram Performance
Meta is expanding Meta AI with a new set of features designed specifically for small businesses, giving the assistant access to Facebook and Instagram performance data, Meta Ads campaigns, and selected Google Workspace apps.
The update, announced by Meta on August 19, 2026, allows businesses to connect their accounts and ask Meta AI questions based on their actual marketing performance.
Meta says the AI can now help businesses understand organic content performance, analyze advertising campaigns, compare their presence with similar brands, create reports and presentations, and set up recurring tasks.
The update is being introduced across Meta AI on the web, mobile, and desktop.
Meta AI can analyze Facebook and Instagram performance
Businesses can connect their Facebook and Instagram accounts directly to Meta AI and ask questions about their organic performance.
According to Meta, the AI can use metrics including reach, saves, shares, comments, and profile visits to identify which content has been performing well and suggest what the business could try next.
For example, Meta shows a business asking which types of Instagram content performed best during the previous month and what it could do differently going forward.
The difference here is that Meta AI is working with the business’s own account performance rather than providing general social media advice.
Businesses can compare themselves with similar brands
The update also introduces a competitor research capability.
Meta says businesses can ask Meta AI to analyze publicly available content and engagement patterns from similar brands on Facebook and Instagram.
In Meta’s example, a business asks the AI to compare its organic performance with five relevant brands in the same industry, explain whether it is ahead or behind, identify what may be driving the difference, and suggest what should change.
Meta AI can therefore combine information from a business’s connected accounts with publicly available information from other brands on Meta’s platforms.
Meta AI can analyze Meta Ads campaigns
The advertising features are one of the biggest parts of the update.
Businesses can now connect their Meta Ads campaigns and ask Meta AI to analyze advertising performance.
Meta says the AI can examine which audiences are producing results, identify patterns among better-performing content, spot creatives that may be losing engagement, and highlight areas where advertising budgets could potentially perform better.
One of Meta’s examples asks the AI to review the previous 90 days of advertising performance, identify what is and is not working, find similarities between the strongest ad sets, and recommend changes for the next 30 days.
The same prompt then asks Meta AI to turn the findings into a three-slide presentation for the team.
Search Engine Land also reported on the update, describing it as a way for advertisers to use Meta AI for campaign analysis, optimization recommendations, and automated reporting.
Meta AI also connects with Google Workspace, but not Google Ads
There is an important distinction in Meta’s announcement.
Meta AI can work with Google Workspace, specifically Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Google Workspace can give Meta AI additional business context from information already stored in emails, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, but this should not be confused with Meta AI directly retrieving or analyzing Google Ads campaign data.
The advertising integration described in Meta’s announcement is specifically for Meta Ads.
Meta AI can create reports and run recurring tasks
The update also goes beyond answering one-off questions.
Meta says businesses can ask Meta AI to turn information into presentations, documents, and spreadsheets.
Businesses can also create recurring routines and reminders. In one example, Meta shows a user asking for an Instagram performance report to be sent every Monday.
This means businesses can use Meta AI not only to investigate performance when they have a question, but also to repeat certain reporting and analysis tasks on a regular basis.
The new features are free to start
Meta says businesses can start using these features for free.
The company has also announced Meta One, an upcoming subscription for businesses that want to make greater use of Meta AI. Meta has not yet shared detailed pricing or explained exactly which features or usage levels will be included in the paid subscription.
Meta also says more features, deeper integrations, and additional ways for Meta AI to act on behalf of businesses are planned for the coming months.
What this means for marketers
Meta’s update makes one thing clear: marketing analytics is becoming more conversational.
Instead of opening multiple reports and digging through metrics, marketers can increasingly ask direct questions like what changed, what is working, and what needs attention next.
For now, Meta AI is strongest inside Meta’s own ecosystem. Most businesses still have performance data spread across platforms such as Google Ads, GA4, Shopify, and social channels.
That is where Vaizle fits in. Vaizle brings multiple marketing sources into one place so you can ask questions across your data, compare performance, and get answers without jumping between dashboards.
Try Vaizle to analyze your marketing data through conversation.
