Hi
You know what's common between all creators that randomly blow up on Instagram?
It is something embarrassingly simple: they all tried a new feature early.
And guess what, now that window is open for you again. Instagram just launched Instants on May 13 and there's a very real opportunity to jump on the "early user" bandwagon.
This edition is about Instagram Instants and lot of interesting stuff going on in the marketing world. Let's catch up. ⬇️
🗞️ In today’s Marketing Scoop, we’re covering: ✦ Meta’s targeting changes in simple terms ✦ A 10-minute Meta audit you can run today with Vaizle AI ✦ A performance case you can copy this week ✦ Quick news for media buyers and what to do now ✦ Three helpful reads from the Vaizle blog |

📸 Instagram Instants launched yesterday. Here's what you should know.
Okay so first, what even is Instagram Instants.
Instants are disappearing photos you share with your Close Friends or mutual followers. It's something similar to Snapchat - you simply open camera, point at something, click, & send.
But here's the part that matters for you:
Instagram has a pattern. When a new feature drops, Instagram needs adoption data. They need to show the feature is working. So early posts using that feature get a quiet reach bump.
It happened with Reels in 2020. It happened with Close Friends. It happened with Trial Reels last year, where 80% of creators who used it early saw a reach increase with non-followers.
|
Three months from now when everyone's posting "how to use Instants for your brand" carousels, you'll have had the head start. 😉

😍 What's going on in the world of AI and marketing?
• DM automation might be why Instagram accounts are getting banned in waves right now. Worth reading before you touch any automation tool.
• Meta is now using AI to visually scan profiles and detect underage users on IG and Facebook. Teen Account restrictions are expanding.
• Shopify merchants can now manage their stores directly inside ChatGPT and Claude. Ecommerce is quietly moving into AI chat.
• Anthropic signed a compute deal with SpaceX and Claude's usage limits just went up significantly.
• And if you missed the full breakdown on Instagram Instants, we covered it here.

❤️ A trend worth trying this week
Instagram quietly dropped an AI filter called Flash inside Stories. You apply it to any photo and it turns it into one of those harsh direct-flash, late-2000s digicam shots. Grainy, glowy, looks like a paparazzi photo from 2008.
The funny part is creators aren't posting the results on Instagram. They're screen-recording the before-and-after and posting it on TikTok. Normal phone photo goes in, looks like a Vanity Fair party shoot comes out.
To try it: go to Stories, add a photo, tap the effects button, search "Flash" and look for Flash III or Dirty Flash.✨

⚡ A note from Vaizle
A very quick update on what we've been building.
Vaizle AI picked up pace as Meta Ads analyst. But now, we are soon bringing Facebook Page, Instagram Analytics, Google Ads, & Shopify integrations.
This means you'll be able to ask plain-English questions about your organic performance the same way you can already do for your Meta Ads.
Which posts drove profile visits this month? Is your reach actually declining or does it just feel that way? What should you make more of?
Same conversational experience, now pointed at your organic data. If you're already running Meta Ads and want to try the current version, start here.

💌 We'd love your feedback
January had the big plans. February had the execution energy. March felt fast. April honestly just happened.
And now it's May and the people I talk to are either in a really good groove or quietly recalibrating. Not failing, just adjusting. Realising something they planned in January needs a different shape now.
If that's you, I think that's fine. Recalibrating mid-quarter is not falling behind. It's just paying attention.
Anyway. Tell me something. What's one thing you're doing differently this month compared to how you started the year? Could be work, could be anything. Hit reply, I genuinely read all of them.
Thanks for reading. :)
